But don’t think simply because the gazebo is wood that the roof should be wood as well. It doesn’t really need to be and there are other materials which can be used to cover the top. One of them is fabric, otherwise known as shade cloth. It’s made of weather resistant material meaning it could withstand the weather while it protects you. Since its fabric it can allow light to move through so it’s not really dark beneath it.
If you prefer something that will last longer and require less maintenance you could have a metal roof instead. Made of aluminum or stainless steel they are rather durable and can even be built to look like tiles.
